DAR Energy Inc was initially incorporated as DAR Drilling Funds in February 2004, with the intent of utilizing money to drill for oil and gas in Alberta.

The assets of 313866 Alberta Ltd, including 3 producing gas wells and the proved properties surrounding them, were vended into DAR Drilling Funds in September, 2005. The name was then changed to DAR Energy Inc.

In 2005, the company drilled a gas discovery in the Dina area of East central Alberta. In 2006 another well was placed on stream producing from a different horizon offsetting the original well. Gas is currently being sold at spot market prices.

In September 2008, DAR commenced leasing lands in a new sedimentary basin. The leases contain up to 3000 feet of petroliferous shales. As leasing is continuing at present the location of the basin remains tight.
